Dr. Boris Awa Joins DICRI as Senior Research Associate
The Digital Informal Credit Research Initiative (DICRI) is pleased to announce that Dr. Boris Awa has joined the Initiative as Senior Research Associate.
Dr. Awa is a Lecturer in Law and Director of the Centre for Law, Technology and Sustainable Development at Kigali Independent University (ULK), Rwanda. His work focuses on economic and financial law, fintech regulation, cryptocurrency, investment law, and international trade in African jurisdictions.
His expertise strengthens DICRI’s comparative and policy-facing agenda. As digital credit ecosystems expand across emerging markets, regulatory responses increasingly require cross-jurisdictional insight and structural analysis. Dr. Awa’s experience in African financial and technological regulatory environments adds critical depth to DICRI’s work on platform-based credit governance and enforcement dynamics.
DICRI is developing as a policy-oriented research platform examining digital informal credit, AI-enabled debt collection, and the governance of financial infrastructures. Dr. Awa’s affiliation reflects the Initiative’s commitment to building a comparative network capable of contributing to regulatory debates beyond purely academic discussion.
We look forward to collaborative work on digital finance, platform governance, and emerging regulatory models.
